I would be worried, with 2 unproven goalies you have to be nervous. but really who cares even hasek in his prime couldn't help them make playoffs. No retooling, a full out rebuild is needed.

There may or may not be light at the end of the tunnel, but the Flames are easily my top pick to finish last in the league this year - which isn't a bad thing for the franchise's future.

I do agree...its going to be a rough year for them with so many new faces but if a few of them pan out, they could surprise a few. They will need Ramo, Baertschi, Backlund and Brodie to step up their games if they plan on staying out of the basement.

Though actually competing this year doesnt bode well for many as they hope to draft high again, its a healthy environment to develop on a rebuilding team.

Colin you know I go to Providence, Gilles is a stud.

Make way for him, he will be the Flames next big starting tender.

I think many are expecting way too much of Ramo et al. I would bet that MacDonald gets the majority of the starts this year. Which isn't bad. I thought he played Ok most nights last season. He was better than Kipper.

I think Ramo will do fine, but realistically, the Flames are rebuilding. Not in the way so many feel that a team should, but similarly to like the Leafs did. Not dumping and tanking, but reloading as they go. That said, if Feaster pulls another O'Reilly fiasco, he needs to fired.

I honestly think expectations for the team and Ramo are quite low, tbh. And with that, either could surprise. But yes, all things considered Joey Mac should be a good option for relief should things not....pan out.

Best case scenario: Ramo does fine
Worst case scenario: all 3 aren't up to NHL par for the season
unhappy middle ground: Ramo and Joey alternate starts or whoever's hot starts cause they're inconsistent.

See Oilers, Edmonton with Markannen, Jussi and Conklin, Ty.

Ramo will have a tough time, not the best team to try a return. playing for bruins or hawks he might shine, but it could ugly really fast for him

Why is that people remember the retool comment but seem to have 100% missed the rebuild correction? THE ORGANIZATION IS REBUILDING. THEY HAVE ACCEPTED AND ANNOUNCED THAT. There, everyone get it? Thanks.

Huh? They dumped (frank)ing everything they could. The only core players they kept are Glenny (they can't trade him, he loves the city because of his ranching/chuck wagon passion and thus signed for a low contract with an NTC) and Gio.

If you pay enough attention you would have heard he said both. First the retool and then corrected the statement a few weeks later to rebuild.
To all of those people that think we should have dumped any and all vets in one trade deadline, shake your heads.they still need to ice a team. A couple vets moved a year is perfect for a slow steady rebuild while trying to remain competitive and not throwing our young kids to the wolves.

Are you that dense that you haven't seen the team trade away it's best forward and best defencemen for prospects and drafts picks?? In what world is that retooling?? Who cares what Feaster said, actions speak louder than words.

This

Now everyone who thinks we are just retooling, (frank) off!!!!!!!!

I also wouldn't rule out Brossoit from making noise but he too needs 2 more years in AHL/ECHL. I think Berra is the one that is going to be surprising good.
